ACL is for losers....

So everyone knows about the ACL festival this weekend. Since everyone and their mom in this summer heard about it everywhere imaginable. So I was reading this opinion piece http://www.statesman.com/opinion/content/editorial/stories/2009/10/02/1002acl_edit.html.

And it got to me because I was one of the fans who enjoyed the great variety of music that the ACL had. All though I did skip Saturday due to the fact that I was not willing to stand in rain. Does that not make me a die-hard fan for not wanting to stand for the music? And another issue that the writer was the dreaded recession for months everything that has been going on in the music has been blamed on the big bad recession. As noticed the recession put no damper on the ACL it was. The broke young college students (or newly college graduates) scraped up enough money to score the chance of a lifetime to witness an event that in years to come will probably become a Woodstock to our generation.

Another thing that the writer points out is the people that Austin brings because of the many music festivals it has, I first hand have seen the effects the music of Austin has had on people as a girl who’s high school was invaded by California kids who were forced to move here by their parents, they constantly complained about how boring Texas was until they experience the thrill of Austin and its weirdness. When that happen suddenly Texas had become the best place ever. Like the writer said Austin is a great retirement city… for young people.
