Drugs for sell?

I chose the article "Juárez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz: U.S. drug policies need to change" which is featured on elpasotimes.com. the article explains how the mayor of el paso thinks that the U.S government needs to be stricte onr its drug policies. In fact in the article Reyes states "The policy in Mexico is to stop the flow of illegal drugs into the United States, and that has caused a lot of people to be killed," Reyes said of the 3,200 homicides in Juárez since January 2008. "From politicians to innocent people to police officers, they have all died trying to stop the flow of drugs into the United States." The poilcies that have had for the last 40 years have done nothing to lessen the demand of illgeal drugs.
I think this article is imporant because every day millions of people die from these drugs if the US becomes stricter on its poilcies then less people can die, mexico's war on drugs can be stopped, in fact it is well known that most of the drugs that are involved in the mexican war on drugs are transported illgeally to the US and into the streets were innocent people get addicted to these drugs and most turn into a life of crime to maitain their "fix" if the U.S tightened their policies then the meixan war on drugs can be weakend and less citizens in meixco will die also.
